OneGuyOneGirl‘s first tweet pretty much sums its model: “… features one single guy and one single girl, every single day! Visit us today! Become featured, free!”

There’s no sign-ups, no permanent profile pages, nothing. Just one girl and one guy featured on the home page, everyday.

To be featured, all you do is upload a photo, and enter your name, age, email address (not shared publicly), a short paragraph about yourself, and a link to your Facebook profile (Twitter seems to be coming soon). You can even choose the date that you’ll be featured, if it’s available.

As a user, you can send the featured guy or girl an email (you have to share yours, and it is unclear whether the site forwards your email to the featured person or if they send an alias email instead); or just message them via Twitter or Facebook if they’ve shared those profiles.

Pros

• It’s free for everyone.
• If you’re featured, you’re the only person of your gender on “view” for that day.




Cons

• It seems to be meant for only straight people.
• The site is unattractive.
• You can only view one picture.
• I needed to refresh the site to make the pop-up lightboxes load properly.




The Business Potential

OneGuyOneGirl looks like it is completely automated, although they probably have to do some moderation just to prevent porn from being published. There’s a Google ad at the top of the page. If the site just runs itself, they could make a few cents, but the site is not very sticky. After all, at most they’ll get one page view per day from any one user.
